INCREASE
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
DIBELS: By 2009, eighty percent (80%) of Russell County School
District’s third graders will reach benchmark in Oral Reading Fluency.
SAT10/ARMT: The Russell County School District (in the aggregate and
each subgroup) will meet or exceed the state’s annual measurable
benchmarks for Reading/Math/ Science for grades 3-8 attaining
proficiency in all academic content standards.
ALDAW: Eighty percent (80%) of fifth, seventh, and tenth grade
students will achieve in levels III and IV on the Alabama Direct
Assessment of Writing by 2009.
AHSGE: By 2009, all twelfth grade students in the Russell
County School District will pass all portions of the Alabama High School
Graduation Exam, and Russell County High School juniors will reach
eighty-five percent (85%) passage rate on accountability measures.
PROVIDE A SAFE
AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT
Facilities: Build, operate and maintain facilities that will
accommodate all programs and curricula of the Russell County School
District.
Technology: Equip the Russell County School District with the
necessary hardware and software to ensure network security.
Behavior: By 2009, ninety-five percent (95%) of students will be
well behaved and focused instructionally.
Personnel: Create a work environment where security measures are
standard operating procedure for all employees.
BUILD A
PROFESSIONAL WORKFORCE THROUGH ENHANCED STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Core Academics: Engage all certified staff in intensive training to
enhance core academic content.
Technology: Ensure that eighty percent (80%) of
faculty and staff are computer literate.
Support Staff: Promote and enhance support staff professionalism and
productivity.
